2018 -

I lead marketing for a fast-growing Brisbane IT consulting firm who specialise in cybersecurity, networking and cloud computing for enterprise.

2017 -

I co-host The FOMO Show, a fortnightly podcast covering blockchain, emerging markets and future tech.

2017 - 2018
1 year, 8 months

Digital marketer, responsible for search engine optimisation and digital advertising. Drove significant digital growth, most notably increasing high-value search traffic by 45% year-on-year.

2012 - 2016
3 years, 6 months

equimedia employed me before, during and after University.

I started out as an intern, where I worked across the teams in market research, affiliate management, brand monitoring, copywriting, SEO and campaign optimisation.

Then, as part of their graduate program, I worked in the following roles:

Advertising Operations Manager

Getting ads online and to their target audience in the most profitable way possible.

Implemented real-time bidding (RTB) campaigns, which involved ad trafficking, campaign setup & targeting and site tracking setup for major clients.

Managed, reported on and (most importantly) optimised RTB campaigns, maximised conversions and ROI.

Digital Account Manager

First point of contact for our insurance and medical services clients for the design, build and optimisation of websites.

The role involved web development project management and relationship management.

PR, Content & Social Executive

Research, copywriting and design for digital content for clients in the legal, charity, financial services and technology sectors.

2007 - 2012
5 years, 1 month

Starting at 14, I designed and developed websites for small businesses.

I taught myself to design and code, building websites within Wordpress and flat-file CMSs. I work naturally in HTML and CSS and I'm able to work with PHP and Javascript.

Design-wise, I'm at ease in the Adobe Suite. If you need something designed, I'm the guy to call.

Education

schools I went to

2011 - 2014
3 years

Studied marketing, graduating with a first class degree with honours. I also designed on the side, read a lot and learnt how to cook an incredible chicken curry.

2009 - 2011
2 years

Studied Maths, French, Business, Latin & Greek. Got into reading newspapers. I also did rock climbing, shooting and editorial work for the economics magazine.

2004 - 2009
5 years

Entered with a music scholarship (singing, piano, organ & double bass). Sold Coca-Cola and crisps. Learnt French, Latin & Greek. Attempted Russian. Built a proxy server for free internet - 40% of campus traffic ended up going through my servers. Annoyed the IT team.
